The ABA’s instructional staff provides year-round professional instruction. Each instructor was specifically chosen because of their specialized background. Our instructors include previous and current professional, minor league and college players along with prior and existing college and high school managers and coaches.

Ken Kelly | Director of Player Development

Ken Kelly has an extensive baseball resume spanning five decades. He played college baseball at Dartmouth, where he competed in the 1970s College World Series. He then became the youngest Division 1 coach in the country when he took over the Georgetown University baseball program at the age of 25. During his tenure at Georgetown, his team set multiple offensive records that still stand to this day. He also enjoyed similar success at the College of Lake County (IL) where his teams dominated the region, setting numerous records. He and the Altamonte Baseball Academy instructors are devoted to cultivating standout athletes and player development by offering a high caliber of training that is unmatched in the area. Scott Allen | Lead Instructor

Scott Allen was a varsity baseball player at Lyman High School where he was drafted in the 11th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He played for seven years in the minor leagues, two years with the South Bend Silverhawks (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate) and five years with the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees affiliate). While with the Trenton Thunder, the team won the 2013 Double A Eastern League Championship. After leaving the minors, Scott coached and instructed at local academies before joining the ABA in 2022. He specializes in throwing, pitching and hitting.
