2024 Election 

This year, the election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Qualifying begins Monday, August 26, 2024 at noon and ends Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. Individuals may announce their candidacy prior to the start of the official qualifying period.  The positions of Commissioner District 2 (II) and Commissioner District 4 (IV) are up for election.

A person who seeks to announce their candidacy, or qualify for election to or retention to office, shall appoint a campaign treasurer, designate a primary campaign depository, and file the appropriate form with the qualifying official (City Clerk) before actively campaigning as a candidate for office.   The name of the office and district sought must be shown on the Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository for Candidates form.

Qualifications for the position of Commissioner include residing in the commission district sought for nine months prior to Monday, August 26, 2024, and being a registered elector. Parties interested in announcing their candidacy or qualifying for City Commission positions should contact the City Clerk’s Office at (407) 571-8122.  Appointments are requested.

Register to Vote

Forms to register to vote are available at the City Clerk’s office. However, registration applications or changes must be submitted to either the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections, a Seminole County Library or the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Driver’s License Offices.

Sign Information 

Candidates who have successfully qualified for office for any election (local, state or federal) and wish to place political signs in Altamonte Springs must follow rules for temporary signs. Deposits or permits are no longer required.
