Solid Waste & Recycling

Altamonte Springs uses a semi-automatic waste collection system. We have shifted from complete manual pickup, which uses the strength of our employees to lift garbage cans, to a semi-automated service. This system uses cart tippers, eliminating the need for heavy lifting.

Solid Waste Collection

The City provides refuse (household garbage) collection twice a week Monday through Friday:

Residences on the east side of I-4 - Tuesday and Friday
Residences on the west side of I-4 - Monday and Thursday

The City now collects on 2023 holidays that fall on your normal collection day:

Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day (September 4)
Thanksgiving Day (November 23)
Christmas (December 25)
