Training Division

The Training Division is responsible for providing a number of services to the Police Department encompassing all areas of training. The Division oversees the Field Training Program for all new Police and Community Service Officers. This 14 week program indoctrinates all new officers in the Department's methods of operation and evaluates the officers' performance.

The Training Division also conducts semi-annual Block Training sessions. This program covers high liability topics such as firearms, self-defense, impact weapons, and vehicle operation. Additional Specialized Training courses are held several times throughout the year as needs are identified. Department Promotional Testing is also conducted by the Training Division.

The Police Department's Wellness Program is also the responsibility of the Training Division. This program promotes physical fitness and healthy lifestyles among our officers. Wellness testing is administered to all applicants and twice yearly to all in-service personnel.
