The City Clerk is the designated qualifying official for city elections. Elections take place in November each year, and the qualifying period for commission candidates is open for one week, typically during the month of August.
Qualifications for commission candidates include residing in their respective commission districts for nine months and being a registered elector. Parties interested in qualifying for City Commission positions should contact the City Clerk's Office at (407) 571-8122.
Forms to register to vote by mail are available at the City Clerk's office. To register to vote or make changes in person, please visit the Supervisors of Elections main office in Sanford, the Altamonte Springs City Library or the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Driver's License Offices.
Candidates who have successfully qualified for office for any election (local or state) and wish to place political signs in Altamonte Springs must follow rules for temporary signs.
