Reclaimed Water Pipes

The City of Altamonte Springs Water Distribution Division maintains miles of distribution pipelines that provide potable and reclaimed water services to home or businesses. Our water distribution staff maintains the pipes, valves, meters and fire hydrants that deliver water to your property.

Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., however, we have on-call personnel available 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week for emergencies.

Sometimes, we find plumbers, irrigation companies, and residents opening and closing water meter valves for various reasons. If you need to shut off your drinking or reclaimed water, the City’s Water Distribution Division has personnel available to shut off drinking water and/or reclaimed water. There is no fee for this service during regular business hours; 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. After hours or weekends, a $25 fee will apply. This $25 charge will appear on your monthly bill. Property owners may wish to install a shut off valve on water or irrigation lines as a convenience.

The City of Altamonte Springs also has two line locators on staff who work with state utility authorities to identify water and sewer lines located underground. Call 8-1-1 before you dig.

Construction sometimes requires the City's utility crews to install meters, perform a hydrant flow test or other related work. To request utility work, complete the Utility Work Request application and submit at least 48 hours prior to the time the work is required.
